Maria Pardalis - Founder & Inspiration
Maria Pardalis founded Pardalis Music Studio (now Pardalis Studio for Music and Performing Arts) in the early 70s. She was an inspirational teacher who was able to trace her teachers to Chopin and Francis Clark.
Maria taught for over 30 years until her death in 2002. She was a popular workshop technician in the beginner method The Music Tree and served on many committees for piano festivals.
As well, she served as president of the Registered Music Teachers Association South Fraser Branch and had held many executive positions in the Vancouver branch.
One thing that she would always share with her students was to remember, “No musical mistake is a mistake, but rather a journey to create beautiful music”. Maria’s daughters are honoured to continue the tradition.

Akylina Asimakis (currently on maternity leave)
Akylina Asimakis (Pardalis) is very excited to be coming back to Pardalis Studio. Akylina is the daughter and student of the founder the Pardalis Studio, Maria Pardalis. As a junior teacher she will reach guitar for beginners, as well as ukulele and piano. Akylina completed her Bachelors degree in Music Therapy at Capilano University in 2020 and she loves to sing everything, from Disney songs to jazz classics, and from re-working a pop song to performing a little opera. She is very excited to share her love and knowledge of music and a lot more with her students. Akylina, who previously worked in long term care as a Music Therapist, as of September 2021 had to resign from her position to care for her newly-born baby boy. Now that her son is almost a year old and a lttle "easier" to care for she is ready to return to teaching music which, she so much loves.
